Hello everyone!  My name is Harvey, you may have spotted me in your Monday/Wednesday club meetings, I am a newbie.  I am absolutely loving getting to know everyone and hanging out with you all, the best singers and dancers in Bath without a doubt!

I grew up in busy London, and very recently moved to Bath – I miss London, mostly my dog, but I have always loved visiting beautiful Bath, so it is great to be here.  My favourite sport is rugby, if the weather keeps up, we should all get out in the sun together when we can and throw a ball around.  I look forward to getting to know you all better and seeing you all face to face soon hopefully!

I have lived in Bath for six years and love the city.  I like going for long walks, seeing bands, upcycling furniture, and visiting museums and art galleries.  During the lock down I have been learning photography.  My favourite kind of food is Japanese food.

I think a lot of the joy of volunteering comes from the people you meet and work with. There is the satisfaction of knowing that you are having a positive effect on your local community and I have also learnt many new skills volunteering over the years, but I think it always comes back to the people.

I really like seeing all the members enjoying the activities and getting to join in with them. It’s really good getting to go somewhere different every week and to support the club members experience new activities.

I so love volunteering at Bath Gateway Out and About because I get to have fun every week with the club members.

I really take pleasure in volunteering because I enjoy interacting with the members and helping them out with all the club’s various activities such as Bowling, Baking, and especially the music theme nights.

I really enjoy volunteering at BGOAA because I love to see the members having fun and enjoying themselves with their friends.

Volunteering also enables me to experience new activities whilst supporting the members to achieve their best during their club sessions.

I joined three years ago on the recommendation of a friend, and I love it.

Just to see the smiles and make the members laugh and have a good time is incredibly rewarding.

Here is a video made by one of our former activity supporters, showing what kind of things can be involved in a typical day's volunteering with Bath Gateway Out & About, plus what is involved in the application process, and also what kinds of valuable experience, skills and rewards can be gained by a club volunteer.
