I have lived in Bath for six years and love the city.  I like going for long walks, seeing bands, upcycling furniture, and visiting museums and art galleries.

I think a lot of the joy of volunteering comes from the people you meet and work with. There is the satisfaction of knowing that you are having a positive effect on your local community and I have also learnt many new skills volunteering over the years, but I think it always comes back to the people.

I have been a volunteer at Bath Gateway Out and About for nearly eight years and have really got to become friends with our members, to see the happiness on their faces its indescribable. I have watched our members growing in confidence and thrive in a positive and uplifting atmosphere. I love volunteering and I love everyone to bits!

I chose this volunteer opportunity because I wanted to be around people who needed a little support to enjoy fun social activities to the fullest.   I live in Bath & after 2 years with limited mobility and isolating a lot (awaiting a complicated hip replacement) it was very important for me 'to get back into the swing of life.'  And what better way than with people who love it!

I've danced to a live band, more dancing and singing at karaoke and cycled tandem around a cycle track on an adapted bicycle.

Getting to know everyone has been amazing, meeting lovely members & volunteers alike.

I would highly recommend Bath Gateway Out and About if you are looking for personal reward and great fun !
